Job Description
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
1. Working within the UK production support team to provide support to GBST clients in issue resolution.
2. Providing support to clients with version upgrades and assisting them during the UAT cycle.
3. Conducting defect analysis and creating development tickets with detailed investigation notes and solutions for the development team.
4. Collaborating with other Technical Analysts, Business Analysts, and Service Desk Analysts to resolve client issues and queries.
5. Providing support to clients during out-of-hours support as required.
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful, you will need:
1. A background in software engineering with a good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support phases.
2. Knowledge of application servers such as JBoss and WebSphere.
3. Technical experience with designing systems using OOAD, SOA, Java, J2EE, Spring, React.js, Node.js, Hibernate, SOAP/REST web services (XML/JSON), Spring Security, Spring Boot, and AMQP/RabbitMQ.
4. Experience in writing SQL queries, data correction scripts, and stored procedures using SQL Server.
5. Experience supporting clients in a production support environment.
6. An understanding of common AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, AWS MQ).
7. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
8. Understanding of cloud infrastructure and developing secure, scalable applications, with a preference for AWS.
9. Basic knowledge of DevOps automation, CI/CD pipelines, Helm charts, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
10. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
11. Experience debugging and troubleshooting applications by analyzing logs.
12. An understanding of agile development methodologies and related practices/tools.
