Job Description
Working in Craigie Cottage on a rota basis including early, late, and night shifts. You will work as and when required, according to the needs of the Cottage. When work is available, you will be contacted. There is no obligation on the Children and Families Service to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work.

Requirements
You will have 3 National 4s, or equivalent, and the ability to undertake HNC and SVQ3, or any other relevant qualification providing evidence of academic achievement equivalent to or above SCQF Level 7.
Responsibilities
You will assist in creating and maintaining a high-quality care environment where children and young people are safe, secure, and nurtured to grow. You will help children and young people to access services and information as appropriate and promote trauma-informed support.
The Individual
We seek motivated individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people cared for by Dundee City Council. You should have experience working collaboratively with children, young people, and their families or carers, including with children with disabilities and providing close personal care.
An understanding of young people's needs and issues affecting them individually and in group settings is essential. You will facilitate care plans and provide support to help them reach their potential. Good communication skills, teamwork experience, and the ability to undertake CALM and moving and handling procedures are required. You must be self-reliant, motivated, and committed to high standards of care.
You need to work as part of a rota involving waking nights and register with the Scottish Social Services Council within the specified timescale. This position is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join or update their PVG Scheme clearance before a formal offer of employment.
