Attendance Officer 35 hours per week term time only September 2025 start Band E points 5-6 £24,790 - £25,183 per annum pro rata Actual salary: £19,608 to £19,918 per annum The Role We are looking to recruit a dedicated Attendance Officer, to provide an efficient and student-centred attendance service for Kenilworth School and Sixth Form. The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, external agencies and the pastoral team to promote a culture of high attendance, early intervention and supportive communication. This is a highly rewarding role for someone who is passionate about student welfare and understands the link between attendance, wellbeing and academic achievement. You will need to be calm, organised and responsive, managing both data-driven and pastoral aspects of the role with care and attention to detail. The ability to build trust and form positive relationships with students and families is essential. Key responsibilities include: • Monitoring and maintaining accurate attendance data using Bromcom. • Engaging with students and families to understand barriers to attendance and supporting them to overcome these. • Working closely with the pastoral team to develop supportive interventions and attendance plans. • Acting as the first point of contact for attendance issues. • Producing reports for senior leaders to inform pastoral decision-making and whole-school strategy. • Supporting statutory compliance, including fire registers and DfE returns. While previous attendance experience is advantageous, we are looking for someone with the right values and mindset—we are able to offer training to the right candidate. The right candidate will: • Be empathetic, approachable and resilient, with strong communication skills. • Have a proactive mindset and be able to work flexibly in a busy school environment. • Demonstrate IT competence, particularly with data entry and report generation. • Enjoy working collaboratively with students, families, staff and external professionals. Working Hours The working hours are term time only: Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 4.00pm (with an unpaid 30-minute lunch-break).
