Our client, a large Aerospace and Defence supplier is looking for an Electronic Architect to join them on a contract basis.
1. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to obtain full SC Clearance.
2. 6-month initial contract, possible to extend.
3. £60+ p/h Umbrella, dependant on experience.
4. Based at Stevenage, hybrid working (possible to be based out of Bristol or Bolton).
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the electrical architecture and requirements for missiles and/or their associated launcher systems with duties including:
5. Specifying/determining
6. system electrical requirements
7. interface definitions and characteristics between subsystems/equipment
8. power architecture, including power budget and power profiles
9. data communication and processing architecture
10. requirements for EMC, bonding, grounding and screening
11. signal safety, including routing of safety related signals
12. Supporting test and fault-finding activities during compatibility checks, risk reduction, system proving/qualification and integration
13. Reviewing and authoring reports, guidelines and processes
14. Design assessments and analysis
15. Working to defence/industry standards
16. Attending and supporting design reviews
Alternatively, acting as the Equipment Manager (RMO) for specific electrical/electronic equipment(s) that are part of a missile or launcher system you will:
17. Project manage the equipment(s) on behalf of the project during development, qualification and manufacture
18. Own the requirements on behalf of the project for the equipment(s)
19. Produce Statement(s) of Work for the associated design authority for the equipment(s)
20. Create and update plans showing activities for the equipment(s)
21. Manage internal & external design authorities for delivery of the equipment(s) hardware, software and deliverables to schedule, cost, quality and performance
22. Hold regular progress reviews with the design authority for the equipment(s)
23. Review qualification verification evidence
24. Track and find resolution to equipment non-compliances
25. Attend and support design reviews
Skillset/experience required:
Technical experience required:
26. electrical/electronics

28. knowledge of defence/industry standards, etc.
29. degree level qualification in a related subject
30. systems engineering

Ideally this would be within a defence related background, however, experience within other engineering industries will also be considered.
