Role / Job Title:EMS Tester Work Location -Warwick, UK (3 days) Mode of Working -Hybrid (might move to 100% office) The Role We are seeking an experienced EMS Tester to join our team working on cutting-edge Energy Management Systems (EMS) projects for leading Power Utility Transmission networks. This role will have a significant impact on ensuring the reliability and performance of SCADA systems, contributing to projects that leverage advanced technologies in power network analysis and voltage control. You will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and gaining exposure to industry-leading SCADA platforms such as OSI Monarch. Your Responsibilities Understand functional design and ensure tests fully meet requirements.
Design and execute test cases to achieve complete test coverage.
Assure testing conducted by third-party suppliers meets client delivery standards.
Collaborate within ART Scrum teams, including Product Owners and SCADA SMEs, to capture test requirements in user stories.
Monitor and report progress of test preparation and execution using JIRA/XRAY and defined processes.
Identify and manage risks and issues related to testing activities.
Develop and agree on action plans to resolve issues, leading problem-solving activities as needed.
Lead defect triage for ART teams, ensuring stakeholder engagement.
Ensure testing aligns with the defined Test Strategy and is managed in central tools.
Maintain compliance with test phase plans and quality standards throughout the lifecycle.
Your Profile Essential Skills / Knowledge / Experience 8 10 Years Desirable Skills / Knowledge / Experience Hands-on experience with SCADA systems for electricity transmission (preferably OSI Monarch).
Prior experience in Energy Management Systems (EMS) testing for power utilities.
Strong understanding of Power System Studies: Power Flow, Contingency Analysis, Short-Circuit Analysis, Load Flow, Network Convergence.
Expertise in testing methodologies: SIT, SAT, FAT, and integration testing.
Familiarity with middleware integration (Oracle MFT, MuleSoft APIs).
Knowledge of industry standards: IEC101, IEC104, GI74, IEC 61850, IEEE standards.
Agile methodology experience.
Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP-ALM).
Strong documentation skills for test cases, scenarios, and defect management.
