About you
We are looking for a Multiskilled Engineer Electrical bias to join our current team. You will work in a fast-paced environment with work in our student halls of residence and academic spaces.
Having a full & current UK driving licence is essential for this post as some travel is required between our campus locations (all local to Northampton) and to enable you to support our Out Of Hours repairs service on a rota with our other engineers.
You will;
1. Have experience in the completion of work in accordance with approved codes of practice and legislative compliance with a clear understanding of Health & Safety at work.
2. Have sound knowledge of products and materials to allow you to diagnose, fault find and provide effective right first-time repairs.
3. Have smart phone / tablet and computer skills as you will be using these daily to receive works, complete jobs and communicate outcomes. Alongside this you will undertake online training and keep up to date with Safe Operating Procedures.
4. Have good interpersonal skills, communication and a commitment to high service delivery as student and staff experience are amongst our key objectives.
5. Be able to work on your own and as part of team in a physically demanding environment.
6. Be able to adapt and prioritise your workload in a changing environment as no two days are the same.
7. Demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills to be able to work accurately and safely.

8. Qualification in maintenance work to NVQ level 2 (equivalent)

The department includes divisions relating to Projects & Capital Development, Maintenance Services, Facilities Services, Security & Community Safety, Catering, Commercial & Events, Safety & Business Continuity, Residential Services and Environment & Sustainability.
