We are seeking a dedicated Weighbridge Operative to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing weighbridge operations, ensuring accurate vehicle weight recordings, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. If you have excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, we would love to hear from you.
About Your Role
1. Smooth and safe operation of site activities, ensuring efficient materials processing and quick turnaround times for customers.
2. Consistently produce accurate weighbridge tickets.
3. Manage site access, including visitor sign-in/out procedures.
4. Report all Health and Safety incidents, accidents, or near misses to management.
5. Weigh vehicles and produce legible sales dockets for invoicing or card payments.
6. Maintain accurate records of all sales transactions.
7. Conduct inspections of plant, equipment, and site as per company procedures.
8. Ensure materials are received and dispatched according to procedures.
9. Serve as a key contact for customers, ensuring their visit is quick and pleasant.
10. Comply with legal requirements of the Highways Act.
11. Adhere to environmental permits and waste acceptance duties of care.
12. Provide administrative support to the operations team as needed.
We're Looking For
1. Experience in quarry or aggregates production is desirable but not essential.
2. Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
3. Collaborative attitude within a small operational team.
4. Good organisational skills and efficient time management.
5. Proactive problem-solving skills.
6. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and responsibilities.
7. Customer-focused mindset, prioritising excellent service.
