Role: Network Security Consultant
Description
The Network Security Consultant will provide technical expertise on project delivery leadership for Verizon customers. This client-facing technical role includes the following responsibilities.
Delivery
* Act as a technical lead in delivery of projects acting as a network security SME, ensuring that solutions remain in scope and are aligned to agreed business requirements, appropriate delivery methodologies are followed and that effective governance is applied
* Delivery of smaller stand-alone projects as required
* Provide support and guidance to consultants working on other Network Security projects
* Support peer reviews of HLD, LLD and project documentation as required
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and prepare appropriate technical solution designs at both high and low levels.
* Technical Lifecycle Activities for the Firewall technologies (Cisco FTD, Palo Alto), i.e., review vendor notifications, software updates/upgrades
* Collaboration with Verizon SOC, NOC, product vendors & Verizon customers
* Test and Validate product release features, upgrades and compatibility
* Evaluate firewall vendor updates, determine if they are needed
* Attendance and contribution to Customer project/security/operation meetings
* Provide ad-hoc technical consultation to the customer
* Attend customer meetings as required
* Write/Prepare documentation for business as usual (BAU) changes as needed
As a Network Security Consultant, you will also possess knowledge and following skills:
* Firewalls: Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD (Essential)
* Proxy: Zscaler
* IDP/IPS: FirePower/Sourcefire IPS/IDS,
* Load Balancers: F5 (LTM/GTM);
* Key technologies such as: VRF, dynamic routing (EIGRP/BGP/OSPF), MPLS, DMVPN, GRE, IPSec VPN
* Remote Access VPN: GlobalProtect, Pulse Secure
* Multi-vendor, managed outsourcing environments
* Experience working with operational environments following ITIL frameworks
* Excellent documentation and presentation skills
* Excellent troubleshooting skills (technical and non-technical);
* Ability to review processes and procedures – and improve them;
* Experience participating in network & system security projects
It is likely that you will have gained some of the following vendor certifications:
* CCNA/CCNP (Enterprise/Security/Data Centre)
* CISSP or equivalent
* Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCNSE)
