Higher Level Teaching Assistant – River Valley School
Join River Valley, our new independent school bespoke for SEMH pupils based in Sheffield.
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will be part of a growing team in a purpose-built school, supporting our incredible children on their educational journey. Our school is located adjacent to and working alongside the brand-new Skills Street Project.
You will work with an experienced team in a culture where children are respected, listened to, and involved in as many decisions as possible and Turn Children’s Lives Around.
As an HLTA, you will follow a flexible structure and help our children and young people unlock their passion for learning. You will be based in our Ofsted-registered school and, when required, support 1 ACE provision locally.
You will work within a Trauma-informed practice model where we can support and follow a therapeutic practice.
Our leadership team will invest in your professional development in the Education sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career.
Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we seek dedicated individuals who wish to continue their careers with a therapeutically based organisation and leading alternative education provider.
Hours
Term Time: aligned with Sheffield’s local authority. This is a full‑time position based on 37.5 hours per week over five days.

Requirements
* Valid Driving Licence – desirable for this role
* Have the Right to Work in the UK
