This position offers the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives. We’re recruiting for an Employment Adviser to join our team. You will provide advice and support to guide and encourage participants to overcome barriers to employment and achieve realistic job goals.
You will manage a caseload of participants, act as their coach and mentor, and be the principal trusted contact to build strong positive relationships, guide, motivate, challenge, encourage and help customers obtain sustainable employment. Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be target driven and a motivational adviser, with a high level of initiative and motivation to seek out solutions to problems and work under pressure with minimal day-to-day supervision. We are looking for someone who can provide first-class customer service and is driven by our aim to empower lives and improve communities.

In return, we offer a competitive salary range of £26,500 to £29,545 per annum (dependent on experience) with additional benefits listed below.
Location: Birmingham (office-based)
Hours: 37 hours per week. Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm

Key Responsibilities
* Excellent people person with very competent communication skills
* Organise and conduct job-search activities
* Identify any potential barriers to employment
* Ensure all paper-based employability tools (covering letters, CVs, speculative letters) are in place
Skills and Experience
Essential
* A good working knowledge of the local labour market in the specified geographical locations
* Basic knowledge of self-employment
* Fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes
* Experience of working in a target-driven environment
* Experience of delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards
Desirable
* Knowledge of the employability industry
* Knowledge of the recruitment industry
* Experience of working with people in the provision of information, advice & guidance
* Full driving licence
