An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapy Team Lead to join our Medicine team at Frimley Park Hospital.

Main duties of the job

To provide excellent, high-quality person-centred clinical care that advocates for patients, strive to provide a service fit for today and the future, develop personal leadership to support clinical growth.
The post holder will lead and facilitate the Medical Occupational Therapy Service with key roles in the development of a competent, knowledgeable workforce, equipping them to provide high-quality person-centred and evidenced based care.
Our teams across all sites have a friendly, supportive atmosphere and a real team ethic. We know how to look after our staff. We offer excellent training opportunities supported by an APH practice development lead and clinical flow lead.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in OT
HCPC Registration

Desirable

Fieldwork educators course
MSc
Post graduate study in the field of Orthopaedics/ Surgery
Knowledge of spinal cord injury
Post graduate study - management/leadership

Essential

Experience

In-depth knowledge of evidence based practice
Knowledge of risk assessment
Substantial post registration experience as an OT some of which must be in the acute physical sector
Clinical work as senior therapist in orthopaedics / surgery
Skills in assessing for and prescribing complex equipment
Skills in assessing and evaluating cognitive and perceptual impairment
Skills in treating patients with impairment following orthopaedic / surgical injury
Documented evidence of CPD

Desirable

Experience of research and audit
Advice and informal supervision to support staff and students
Worked in some of the following areas: - elective orthopaedics, trauma orthopaedics, general surgery, amputees, care of the older person
Leadership and first line management
