Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team within the Medical Unit at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI). This part-time role (15 hours per week) will focus on supporting patients in the Emergency Department (ED), Acute Medical assessment unit (AMU) and those on the frailty pathway, contributing to early assessment and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist OT input within acute medical settings.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient flow and safe discharge.
* Assess and manage all patients, promoting independence and recovery.
Requirements
* HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
* Experience in acute medical or front door services is desirable.
* Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working with frailty pathways.
* Involvement in discharge planning within acute settings.
* Clinical experience in Emergency Department (ED) or acute medical units.
* Proven ability to work in Multi disciplinary teams.

This post is over 2 days, Monday and Wednesday, to ensure the service has equitable service Monday to Friday
