Our client secondary school situated in the inner-city area of central Manchester is looking to recruit a teaching assistant to start with them during the first half term of the new academic year. The successful teaching assistant will be required from appointment in September for the remainder of the whole academic year. This appointment will initially be via Teaching Personnel on a supply basis with the opportunity to progress onto a school-based contract from January onwards. The role of the teaching assistant at this mixed secondary school is to fulfil a full 360 degree role including supporting students in lessons, assisting any students who are identified as having SEN and supporting those who have English as an additional language. The successfully appointed teaching assistant will therefore have to be adaptable, confident and motivated to succeed taking on the wide variety of positions. This is a centrally located secondary school where behaviour can be challenging – there is lots of support in place for students and staff are highly supportive of each other, often working together to support each other and collaborate.
