SEN Teacher Job Title: PMLD SEN Teacher Location: Aylesbury Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Full-Time We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team at a school in Aylesbury, supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). As a PMLD Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for students with complex needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised, meaningful learning experiences tailored to each student's individual needs. About the Role: Design and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with PMLD, setting clear, achievable learning goals. Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that accommodate a wide range of learning styles and sensory needs. Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists to ensure a fully integrated and holistic approach to student support. Continuously assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies and resources as needed to support individual development. Maintain open and effective communication with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates and working together on strategies to enhance learning and wellbeing. Create and nurture an inclusive classroom environment that encourages empathy, mutual respect, and positive social interaction among all students. Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up to date with best practices and developments in special education and PMLD provision. Apply appropriate behaviour support strategies to foster a calm, respectful, and positive learning atmosphere, especially when addressing complex behaviours. The ideal candidate will: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree desirable) Qualified teaching status with specialisation in Special Education Demonstrated experience supporting students with PMLD or similar complex learning needs In-depth knowledge of PMLD, developmental disabilities, and effective teaching strategies for learners with complex needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals A genuine passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs Why Work with Supply Desk?
