About Our Client
Our client is a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation in Reading. Boasting a small-sized, collaborative team, this organisation is committed to serving the local community.
Job Description
1. Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
2. Coordinate, analyse, and report the financial performance to management and the board of directors (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required).
3. Prepare short- and long-term financial forecasts for internal management and external stakeholders.
4. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with external audit firms, and review their performance.
5. Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures covering financial reporting, employee relations, and other corporate activities.
6. Conduct ongoing cost reduction analyses across all areas of the organisation.
7. Interpret financial results to management and recommend improvement activities.
The Successful Applicant
A successful candidate for the Financial Controller/Head of Finance role should have:
1. A degree in a relevant field.
2. Full qualification as an Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).
3. Previous experience working in the not-for-profit sector.
4. Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or Finance Director.
5. A hands-on approach to financial management.
6. Residency near Reading, Berkshire.
7. Right to work in the UK.
