About the Role
We are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team delivering a wide range of civil engineering projects across the North East. Based from our Durham office, the role offers a mix of office, site, and home working (by agreement), depending on the needs of the project and candidate.
You’ll be working on schemes typically ranging from £1m to £10m, covering Civil Engineering general infrastructure works. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and well-regarded contractor with a strong regional presence and a secure pipeline of NEC-based work.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial management of multiple civil engineering projects under NEC contracts
Preparation and agreement of interim applications and final accounts
Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management
Cost forecasting, change control, and budget reporting
Ensuring contractual compliance and supporting project risk management
Supporting or leading client liaison and attending progress meetings
Mentoring junior commercial staff (for SQS level)
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a QS or SQS in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of NEC suite of contracts (Option A, C, or E)
Excellent commercial acumen and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full UK driving licence – ability to travel to site and regional offices as required
