What the Job Involves The City of Westminster is seeking an experienced and chartered Structural Engineer to support our Building Control and Planning teams. This temporary position plays a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and structural integrity of developments across the borough. Review and check structural designs submitted as part of planning or building regulation applications Provide timely responses to basement development consultations issued by Planning Conduct occasional on-site inspections where required Advise, prepare reports, and support actions relating to Dangerous Structures Act as a core member of the Dangerous Structures team Manage workload efficiently, ensuring service-level agreements and response times are consistently met Skills Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or an equivalent recognised body Significant operational experience in structural engineering Strong time-management, organisational, and record-keeping skills Demonstrated ability to assess structural information promptly and accurately
