Buro Happold is recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Environments team in our Manchester office.
What sort of projects could I work on?
* Wrexham AFC Kop Stand Redevelopment – redevelopment of the STōK Cae Ras stadium with a new 5,500 stand and associated facilities.
* MMU All Saints Library, Manchester – creation of a new world‑class library and teaching building.
* Sister Manchester Plot C, Manchester – the first new build development on the site, comprising 500,000 ft² of high‑quality commercial office and community use space.
BuroHappold's Manchester Building Services team continues to deliver cutting‑edge design solutions encouraging efficient use of materials, energy, and natural resources.
Key Duties
* Undertake detailed electrical engineering building services design and calculations using Revit and Amtech.
* Embrace technologies to improve performance and sustainability to meet net‑zero targets by 2030.
* Ensure projects are carried out to an excellent standard, within agreed deadlines and budget.
* Produce reports, presentations, models, and drawings to a high level of accuracy and in a timely manner.
* Prepare technical schedules, design development reports and innovative design solutions.
* Plan and manage input to Revit for production of design work.
* Actively engage with colleagues across disciplines.
Your Skills & Experience
* Relevant building services experience or credentials that support highly sustainable buildings.
* Experience as an Electrical Engineer on projects.
* Broad design knowledge from working on diverse projects using British, US, and European codes of practice.
* Experience using Revit, Amtech, IES and willingness to learn new analysis packages.
* Digital engineering skills (e.g., coding) would be advantageous.
* Working towards, or a Chartered Member of IET, CIBSE or equivalent body.
* A Bachelor’s degree BEng/BSc or Master’s degree MEng/MSc in a relevant discipline.
