Overview
The Projects and Governance Officer role is a newly created position within the Vice-Chancellor's Office, responsible for the effective management, operations, and governance of the University’s Executive Team and Management Team. The postholder will work closely with the Executive Officer to implement an oversight model for Strategy 2030, deliver projects and initiatives, and facilitate engagements.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective management, operations and governance of the Executive Team and the University Management Team.
* Work with the Executive Officer in implementing an oversight model for Strategy 2030.
* Deliver projects and initiatives and arrange and facilitate engagements.
* Serve as a highly effective communicator with senior executive committees.
Qualifications & Skills
* Highly organised, motivated, proactive and able to work autonomously.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a high degree of accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Previous experience servicing senior executive committees and applying good governance principles.
* Ability to negotiate and work with senior staff and colleagues in a positive and diplomatic manner.
* Experience in flexible, proactive roles within comparable organisations.
Employment Details
Appointed candidates will normally be employed through BCU Support Services Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University). Applicants with prior LGPS membership may enter the LGPS scheme and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly.
