The purpose of the role
The Resource Manager is the central coordination point for all projects flowing through the Salocin Group (Edit, Join the Dots & Wood for Trees), acting as the operational backbone. The role balances workload distribution, manages capacity planning, and maintains clear visibility of project timelines and resource availability. Working closely with the Director of Client Operations, the Client Delivery Team, and department heads, this role ensures exceptional quality work is delivered on schedule whilst maintaining sustainable team workloads.
How will you spend your time?
Resource Planning & Allocation
* Maintain a comprehensive view of all active and upcoming projects; assess skills and availability of team members; match appropriate resources to requirements.
* Manage scheduling systems daily to track utilisation, identify conflicts, and mitigate capacity issues before they impact delivery.
* Facilitate capacity planning meetings, communicate constraints clearly, and develop scheduling protocols that balance client deadlines with team wellbeing.
Capacity Management & Forecasting
* Serve as an early warning system – identifying resource gaps, skill shortages, and scheduling conflicts well in advance.
* Provide regular reporting on utilisation metrics and capacity forecasts to senior leadership, enabling informed decisions on hiring, freelance support, or project timing.
* Proactively manage resource bookings to optimise utilisation across all disciplines within the group.
Stakeholder Communication & Problem‑Solving
* Build strong relationships across all departments, acting as a trusted partner in balancing workload and operational efficiency.
* Negotiate diplomatically at all levels when making difficult allocation decisions.
* Remain calm under pressure whilst finding creative solutions to scheduling challenges, drawing on a thorough understanding of project lifecycles and interdependencies between creative and production disciplines.
Team Development & Support
* Understand individual skills, career aspirations, and development needs across the group.
* Match team members with projects that meet client needs while providing opportunities for skill development and career growth.
* Identify opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing across the three businesses.
It’s important you’re experienced in…
* Proven experience in resource management or traffic coordination within an agency group or fast‑paced creative environment; multi‑brand/business‑unit experience preferred.
* Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail; ability to manage multiple competing priorities with accuracy and clarity.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to negotiate and make difficult decisions diplomatically at all levels.
* Proficiency with resource and project management software; comfort working with data to analyse utilisation trends and forecast capacity.
* Understanding of CRM and Data; highly numerate with strong analytical skills to identify patterns and potential issues early.
* Strategic thinker and tactical executor; able to balance immediate scheduling needs with longer‑term capacity implications.
* Resilient and adaptable; thrives in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Reporting & Relationships
This role reports to the Director of Client Operations and works closely with department heads across creative, strategy, account management, and production teams. The Resource Manager collaborates daily with the Client Delivery Team on resource allocation, with SME leads on team capabilities, and with senior leadership on strategic capacity planning – acting as the connective tissue that ensures the Salocin Group operates efficiently across all three businesses.
