A unique opportunity has arisen for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving charity focused practice in the heart of Shropshire. This 24/7 surgery operates from a modern, award winning building with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and is part of a compassionate organisation dedicated to ensuring no animal suffers due to financial hardship.
Joining a friendly, professional team of 10 vets including certificate holders in medicine and surgery, you will manage a varied and challenging caseload, treating animals that might otherwise go without care. The practice boasts exceptional facilities, including an in-house CT scanner, advanced orthopaedic equipment, and access to hip replacement specialists, providing the perfect environment for both GP and emergency care development.
The successful candidate will bring strong clinical expertise and a passion for mentoring, coaching, and leading a high performing team. You will play a key role in embedding the organisation’s values, ensuring excellent standards of patient care, and supporting your colleagues through clinical governance and staff meetings.
There are also opportunities to engage with business operations, reviewing KPIs and P&L, while working closely with the Practice Manager and Lead Nurse to optimise day-to-day performance. Whether you are an experienced senior vet or looking to expand your skills in emergency and critical care, this is a role that combines clinical variety with leadership responsibility in a supportive, mission driven environment.
