The role is hybrid; 2 or 3 days a week from home but with an office located on the outskirts of Neath. This role involves working alongside 2 others to provide transactional finance and management accounting support to a group of companies. The ideal candidate should be dynamic, technically adept, and possess a superb work ethic, ready to hit the ground running.
The responsibilities include:
* Payroll function: Managing payments for about 120 payees (80 monthly and 30 weekly), with processes simplified through annualisation, and potential growth with new facilities.
* Preparing and analysing financial statements
* Cost analysis, particularly in line with labour spend
* Budget reporting
* Assisting with cash flow analysis
* Balance sheet reconciliation
* Transactional finance duties related to supplier statements and purchase ledger
You will play a significant role in month-end preparations and providing commercial analysis for business management.
Ideal candidates will have a robust understanding of financial processes, preferably Part Qualified/Finalist or QBE with extensive experience in a finance team. A good understanding of accounting software (ideally SAGE) and advanced Excel skills are essential. This is not an entry-level role; at least 2 years' experience in an accounting environment is expected.
The role offers flexibility, with standard hours of 37 per week across 5 days, but options for reduced hours, a 4-day week, or flexible scheduling to accommodate personal commitments.
Salary depends on experience, ranging from £30,000 to £35,000 FTE based on 37 hours/week.
