Trainee Freight Forwarder
Bradford or Mercia Park DE12 – Mon‑Fri 37.5 hours per week.
DSV is recruiting for a Trainee Freight Forwarder at Mercia Park or Bradford, working within the Irish department. We are looking for an individual with an interest in a career in freight and the desire to learn! After completing a successful probationary period, you'll have the opportunity to join our “Young DSV” programme, designed to support your development and understanding of logistics on a global scale.
What will you be doing?
* Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service across both Import and Export shipments
* Liaise professionally with customers, overseas offices, and internal colleagues via phone and email
* Update, check, and maintain accurate shipment information within DSV systems (full system training will be provided)
* Plan and coordinate export trailers for Northern Ireland and Ireland
* Provide timely Proof of Delivery (POD) to customers and overseas offices upon completion of shipments
* Investigate, resolve, and follow up on customer and operational queries to ensure prompt resolution of any issues
* Monitor shipments closely, following up on collections and deliveries
* Complete general administrative duties accurately

* Reliable and punctual, with a consistent approach to meeting responsibilities
* Good IT skills, with the ability and willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new systems
* High attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues and apply practical problem solving solutions
* An adaptable and flexible approach, able to respond positively to changing priorities and operational demands
