Transactional Accounts Assistant - 12 Month FTC

About the role
As a Transactional Accounts Assistant, you'll support the Vets Finance Team by accurately processing day to day financial transactions and keeping our finance systems (including SAP) up to date and reliable. You'll be trusted to maintain the integrity of core transactional activities while providing responsive, friendly support to practice colleagues and external partners such as insurers and charities.
The role offers a 12-month fixed-term contract (to support internal moves) and hybrid working (two office days per week) from our Support Office in Handforth, Cheshire.
What you'll be doing
* Posting accurate journal entries and maintaining clean financial records
* Performing bank reconciliations and allocating payments/receipts
* Responding to finance queries via email and phone with a customer focussed approach
* Working closely with insurers and charities to exchange information smoothly
* Resolving straightforward transaction issues and knowing when to escalate
* Adhering to financial controls and flagging issues promptly
* Retrieving and managing financial data to support decision making
* Supporting wider accounting tasks as needed
What you'll bring
Essential
* Background in office administration
* Confident computer skills
* Working knowledge of Excel (basic formulas and formatting)
* Strong attention to detail and numeracy
* Clear communication and a helpful, responsive mindset
Desirable
* Experience in a fast paced finance environment
* Exposure to SAP or similar finance systems
