A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the small, patient-focused team at the Outpatients Department, Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda, with the requirement to work at Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Dewi Sant Hospital if required.
Main Outpatients facilitates a wide range of consultant-led, nurse-led clinics, and visiting specialties.
The successful candidate must have an interest in outpatient nursing, work well independently and as part of a team, embrace the core values of the health board, and demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve services for patients.
Skills in phlebotomy, ECG recording, and wound care are important and required for this role. The successful applicant will be expected to facilitate clinics independently, carry out clinical procedures such as Doppler assessments, supervise junior staff, and support student nurses on placement.
They will also be required to manage the outpatient area in the absence of the Department Manager.
Staff are required to undertake mandatory training and e-learning, actively participate in PADR, and are supported in achieving revalidation.
The successful candidate is encouraged to participate in and promote departmental learning and development.
Main Outpatients operates Monday to Friday, and flexibility over the five-day working week is essential to meet the service's needs.
