NHS Grampian is seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Dental Nurse to join the Aberdeenshire Public Dental Service, based at Banchory Dental Clinic.
This is a busy and rewarding role supporting the delivery of high‑quality dental care to patients, including sedation clinics. The post holder will provide full chairside assistance to clinicians, undertake decontamination duties, and support the safe and effective running of the clinic. There will also be a requirement to assist with reception duties as required.
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrate good organisational skills, and show flexibility to meet service needs. There will be a requirement to support other clinics across Grampian as required.
Key Duties
* Chairside assistance to clinicians, including domiciliary visits and sedation sessions
* Supporting the safe delivery of sedation and patient monitoring
* Decontamination and infection control duties
* Supporting high‑quality, patient‑centred care
* Reception and administrative duties
Essential Criteria
* NEBDN qualification or SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
* Registration with the General Dental Council
* Experience of working in a clinical dental environment
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible approach with a willingness to travel across Grampian
Sedation Requirement
* The post holder must be willing to support dental sedation clinics
* IV/RA sedation qualification is required. If not already held, the successful candidate will be required to undertake this qualification as soon as possible, with full training and support provided.
