Job Overview / Introduction
Reporting to a manager and working directly with the client, the Senior Consultant Business Analyst is responsible for providing independent expert advice to help identify and solve complex business challenges, increase value, and maximise operational efficiency and profitability. Drawing on strong supply‑chain experience and established methodologies, the consultant will support the creation of strategic road‑maps, drive process optimisation and develop innovative, practical solutions that meet client needs across both business and supply‑chain functions.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients, acting as a trusted advisor and securing buy‑in for change and delivery approaches.
* Understand client business objectives, challenges, and industry trends, including supply‑chain dynamics, logistics constraints and procurement practices.
* Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and timely delivery of project milestones.
* Contribute to engagement success by bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, especially in supply‑chain operations and performance optimisation.
* Collect, analyse and translate industry, market, and supply‑chain data into actionable business insights.
* Document business processes and workflows, identifying improvement opportunities in forecasting, inventory management, fulfilment and distribution.
* Support senior business analysts and project managers across the project lifecycle, including supply‑chain‑focused initiatives.
* Assist in the implementation of business and supply‑chain solutions such as planning tools, inventory optimisation, logistics improvements and operational reporting.
* Maintain clear documentation and reports that track project progress, performance metrics and other key indicators.
* Support the Engagement Manager across consulting engagement lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, mobilisation and risk management, to ensure successful and on‑time delivery.
* Develop artefacts that support the presentation of solutions and plans, using standard Microsoft Office applications.
* Deliver tasks to the quality standards and processes of the client and Squarcle, ensuring consistency and adherence to Squarcle’s quality assurance process.
Secondary Roles and Responsibilities
* Production of internal reporting.
* Develop and refine Squarcle methods.
* Support wider team activities such as knowledge sessions and recruitment.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree (2:1) or higher in Business Analytics, Business Management, Supply‑Chain Management, Operations Management or Logistics, or equivalent experience.
* Experience as a Business Analyst.
* Strong consulting skills: research, analysis, presentation and attention to detail.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and client service focus.
* Proven problem‑solving ability, analytical, innovative and creative mindset.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Strong work ethic with ability to be self‑directed and independent contributor.
* Capability to structure and manage intensive workloads and lead teams.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Prepared for security clearance; successful candidates must apply for and pass security clearance before appointment.
Desirable
* Business Analyst qualification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT (Foundation or Practitioner level).
* Experience in the Defence sector.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Visio.
* High emotional intelligence for dealing with diverse clients and teams.
* Confidence and maturity to work with senior executives.

Work hours are 8:30 am – 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with an hour for lunch.
This role requires you to have lived in the UK for the last five years and obtain Security Check (SC) security clearance. The necessary clearance must be obtained within six months; otherwise your conditional offer may be withdrawn. We do not offer visa sponsorship.
