Just Eat Takeaway is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Loyalty department’s Membership & Benefits team. The team is responsible for the critical backend services and APIs that power customer retention and rewards. In this role, you will work closely with the wider development team to design, implement, and maintain applications that meet our evolving business requirements. We focus on building a customer‑centric platform, working as a unified team to maintain stability while innovating at scale.
Key responsibilities
* Develop and optimize backend solutions on AWS, specifically deploying services on Amazon EKS and utilizing cloud‑native services.
* Own the implementation of changes to our global vouchers solution to ensure a seamless experience for our customers.
* Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to ensure software delivery is both efficient and reliable.
* Use Docker containers for application packaging and deployment across our global infrastructure.
* Implement and maintain messaging systems like SQS/SNS to support our event‑driven architecture.
* Design and optimize both NoSQL and SQL databases to ensure high performance for data storage and retrieval.
* Partner with cross‑functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to deliver high‑quality software solutions.
* Take ownership of specific workstreams, moving projects from the initial design phase through to production support.
* Contribute to and improve team standards while adhering to JET‑wide architectural best practices.
* Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to support the team’s continuous improvement.
Required qualifications
* Strong technical knowledge of C# .NET and modern software engineering practices.
* Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services, specifically EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
* Proficiency in Docker and containerization technologies for application deployment.
* Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions, to automate software delivery.
* Familiarity with messaging systems and event‑driven programming, ideally using SQS/SNS.
* Knowledge of both NoSQL (preferably DynamoDB) and SQL databases for high‑performance storage.
* Understanding of API Gateway management and maintaining clear OpenAPI specifications.
* Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills within complex, distributed environments.
* Excellent communication skills and a preference for working in collaborative, Agile team structures.
* An interest in microservice architectures and building reliable, high‑scale platforms.
