This Contracts Manager will support the teams responsible for the full lifecycle of AWS data center infrastructure. This includes contracts spanning design and construction, operation, maintenance, and physical security of AWS data centers and related infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Review, draft and negotiate a high volume of Amazon contracts across a diverse and expanding scope of data center activities, including general contractor and engineering/design vendor main services agreements, operations, maintenance and security services contracts, work orders, change orders, and ancillary agreements.
* Provide day‑to‑day legal and commercial advice to business clients on projects, negotiations, vendor management and internal and external communications.
* Partner proactively with procurement, finance, engineering, construction, operations and security stakeholders to anticipate needs, assess and manage risk and deliver timely, actionable guidance and support.
* Drive legal and business‑facing process improvements that enable scalable and efficient contract management at high volumes, and develop and implement simplification measures to eliminate repetitive or low‑risk work.
* Drive reductions in contract cycle times through workflow automation, standardization and cross‑functional process alignment, and champion the adoption of AI tools and legal technology to elevate the quality, speed and scalability of the contracting function.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Experience in a fast‑paced, high‑tech company or prioritizing and handling multiple assignments while maintaining commitment to deadlines.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities, and experience working with customers with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
* Experience with legal contracts and contract negotiation.
* Experience managing a high volume of contracts simultaneously across diverse categories and counterparties.
* Passion for building trust with internal and external stakeholders by being proactive and innovative in solving problems that affect stakeholders and customers.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced and rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
* Can use AI for legal research, contract analysis, or document review.
* Experience with construction, design, facilities management, operations, maintenance or physical security contracts.
* Prior in‑house experience supporting global teams at a technology company or large‑scale infrastructure organization.
* Experience managing outside‑counsel engagements, including budget oversight and performance evaluation.
* Proficiency in contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms or legal operations technology.
