Collateral Operations Analyst – Margin Management - £31,000 per annum
Location: Chester (4–5 days on-site)

Are you an experienced Collateral Operations professional with a background in margin management for Prime Brokerage or Futures & Options?
We’re working with a leading global investment bank seeking a Collateral Operations Analyst to join their high-performing Margin Management team in Chester. This is a hands-on role supporting critical daily margin processes, client interactions, and risk mitigation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily margin call processes, ensuring timely agreement and settlement
• Liaise directly with clients and internal stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Credit, Sales & Trading)
• Investigate and resolve client queries related to margin, interest, and collateral movements
• Monitor margin requirements and escalate risks where necessary
• Handle cash and non-cash collateral settlements, reconciliations, and FX coordination
• Support internal reporting, KPI tracking, and ad hoc project initiatives
• Participate in operational efficiency efforts and upcoming regulatory readiness work (e.g. UMR)
Requirements:
• Prior experience in collateral or margin operations within a banking or financial institution
• Solid understanding of margining for Prime Brokerage and/or Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETDs)
• Excellent communication skills and confidence liaising with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and risk awareness
• Able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Familiarity with industry regulations and operational risk frameworks is a plus
Additional Information:
• Full-time role based in Chester, with 4–5 days per week in-office required
• Initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension
• Competitive day rate (inside IR35 / via umbrella)
