Job Opportunity in Hancock, Michigan
If you love the Upper Peninsula, you will enjoy working from our Hancock, Michigan office. We are seeking a motivated Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer to join our geoenvironmental project team based in Hancock.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support environmental site assessment and remediation projects through fieldwork and office tasks, including sample collection of soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, pore water, and soil gas.
2. Manage technical tasks for remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and due diligence processes.
3. Assist in designing, developing bid specifications, overseeing construction, and maintaining environmental remediation projects.
4. Analyze data, evaluate findings, and prepare technical reports.
5. Contribute to business development efforts and prepare proposals.
Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a BS or MS in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering, with at least three years of environmental consulting or regulatory experience. Additional qualifications include:
1. Knowledge of Michigan and Federal environmental regulations pertaining to air, water, soil, and waste.
2. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
3. Experience in contaminated sediment evaluation and ecological restoration is desirable.
4. Valid driver’s license is required.
5. H AZWOPER certification is mandatory.
