SEN Teaching Assistant - Part-Time - Immediate Start Date - Location: Stafford
We are recruiting for a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a lovely First School in a small village on the outskirts of Stafford. You will be working on a part-time, temporary basis through our supply agency. Offering an immediate start to the right candidate with a combination of mornings and afternoons across a 5-day week.
There will be 2 afternoons on a Monday and Tuesday (12:00 pm - 15:00 pm)
There will be 3 mornings on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (8:30am - 13:00pm)
You will be providing 1:1 support to a pupil who requires a high level of assistance, particularly with behaviour management. A large part of the role will involve supporting the child outside of the classroom environment, including outdoor play and engaging them in structured indoor activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding, consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's needs.
Confidently manage routines, activities and transitions throughout the day with the pupil.
Build strong, supportive and professional relationships with children, staff, parents and most importantly the child you will be working alongside too.
Manage and support challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner.
Engage the pupil in meaningful activities both indoors and outdoors.
Work closely with the class teacher and Leadership team to ensure the best outcome for the pupil you will be supporting.What we're looking for:
Ideally, at least a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
Highly experienced working with children with SEN needs, classroom experience is desired.
Strong and comfortable in managing quite challenging behaviour.
Somebody with a patient, resilient and proactive approach.
Ability to build positive relationships with staff and children quite quickly.
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain).
Can travel to Stafford comfortably.What We Offer:
