NHS Shared Business Services are looking for a procurement category professional to join our established team as a Category Manager. In this national role within our Construction & Estates category, you’ll support the delivery of our Healthcare Planning, Construction Consultancy, and Ancillary Services Framework. Playing a key part in shaping the marketplace for our clients.
With strong public procurement experience, you’ll take a central role in managing the Framework, showing strong stakeholder management and strengthening existing relationships with key suppliers. njoy a challenge, developing specific strategic sourcing programmes/strategies across our client base. Support with several projects within key markets.

This role is primarily home-based, with monthly in-person team meetings in our Salford office and occasional travel for conferences and site visits as needed
What you'll be doing:
1. Supporting with the strategic framework delivery plan
2. Handling supplier enquiries and taking ownership of the database pipelines
3. Supporting the Principal Category Manager with acquiring key data and building market awareness
4. Leading on marketing of the framework using various routes to market
5. Contract management of suppliers through engagement and supply chain compliance
6. Supporting uptake of framework portfolio across the landscape, working alongside key internal teams
What you’ll bring:
7. Procurement experience within the NHS or public sector (essential).
8. Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations (either PCR 2015 or PA 2023) (essential).
9. Experience of developing and improving key supplier relationships and exploring new opportunities.
10. Construction & Estates category management knowledge/experience (desirable).
11. Ability to deliver a portfolio of projects as agreed with NHS SBS client stakeholders, meeting expectations and timelines.
12. CIPS Level 4 or working towards.
