Senior Accountant
Baker Tilly is looking for a Senior Accountant whose expertise will drive meaningful outcomes and help shape what comes next. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals committed to making a difference for our clients, communities, and one another.
Your role
* Preparation of compilation, review and audit engagements
* Preparation of corporate, personal and trust income tax returns
* Preparation of tax slips (T3, T4, T5, etc.)
* Performing and leading audits
* Identifying and resolving engagement issues
* Supporting year‑end planning
* Developing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships
* Direct field work and informing manager(s) of the engagement status
* Developing strong technical audit, accounting and tax skills
* Collaborating to ensure we provide an integrated financial and business solution that meets our clients' needs
What you bring to the table
* University degree in commerce or accounting
* Attained a Canadian professional accounting designation (CPA, CA) or CPA in waiting
* 3+ years experience at public accounting firm with a minimum of two years of audit and assurance experience
* Working knowledge of Caseware, Taxprep/iFirm, Keystone, and Quickbooks preferred
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Interest in managing and developing others
* Ability to prioritize and manage deliverables, adhering to time and budget constraints
* Ability to consistently meet deadlines, which can conflict with one another
* Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
* A positive attitude and willingness to work and learn
* An inclination for attention to detail and accuracy
* A desire to be an integral part of a fun team environment
