Your role:

Do you have a passion for helping children and parents in your local community get to school safely? If so, this may be the job for you! As part of the council’s road safety program, you will operate in line with national guidelines, enabling children, parents and other pedestrians to safely cross busy roads at designated times during the school run periods. There are over 60 School Crossing Patrol (SCP) locations in the borough all with a priority rating. You may be asked to provide cover at a higher priority crossing in your ward or close by. You will be appreciated and thanked every day by the children.

About you:

Are you ready to become a known community role model and play a pivotal part in your neighbourhood's road safety? School crossing patrol staff are dedicated individuals who are committed to providing road safety no matter what the weather conditions are. As a lone worker you will be an effective communicator, ensuring all significant information and incidents are accurately captured and reported through line management in a timely manner. You will have a flexible and positive approach to short notice changes to support priority crossings, and you will give your best every day, maintaining an enthusiastic outlook and drive to deliver an outstanding service. Helping children to get to school safely is extremely rewarding, if you want daily job satisfaction this is the role for you.

About us:

LTRS is dedicated to innovation and continues to advance the service through trust and technology. No matter what the working day brings we’ve got you covered.

Here at Wigan, we are proud to support flexible working patterns, when the service can accommodate this. We also take a blended approach to where we work, depending on the work we do.
