Join a team dedicated to empowering neurodiverse students in higher education. We're seeking compassionate and qualified professionals to provide one-to-one Mobility Training support for a student in Liverpool.
Key Responsibilities
* Assessment & Planning
* Evaluate the student's mobility skills, confidence level, and orientation needs
* Provide one-on-one instruction in safe navigation techniques including street crossing, obstacle avoidance, and use of tactile or auditory cues
* Guide the use of mobility aids (e.g., white canes, low-vision devices) as applicable
* Deliver practice sessions across campus routes including classrooms, residences, common areas, and emergency exits
* Teach strategies to manage varied environments (e.g., weather changes, crowds, noise)
* Support emergency preparedness and teach students how to navigate to safe zones
Essential Requirements
* Qualification or registration with a recognised rehabilitation body per DSA guidelines.
* Meets DfE criteria for DSA-funded Mobility Training
* Experience working with adults with visual impairments.
* Enhanced DBS clearance
* Right to work in the UK
