As a Principal Structural Marine Engineer, you will carry out detailed Engineering design activities, working closely with cross-functional teams on a range of projects, making sure that complies with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
The Principal Structural Marine Engineer is tasked with authoring, reviewing, and substantiating marine and structural designs through rigorous calculations, simulations, and support during commissioning and diagnostic testing. This role necessitates leading and contributing to product development throughout the design lifecycle, while providing technical support to key customers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of engineering outputs. Additionally, the engineer must serve as a Technical Authority, possessing deep expertise in a specific aspect of marine or structural engineering, and bear technical responsibility for the delivery of engineering outputs.
Qualifications
* Ideally degree qualified but HND/HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline with extensive experience in relevant field will be considered;
* Be a member of a relevant institution (e.g. RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc.);
* Either already UK Security cleared or able for achieve UK SC clearance.
Essential skills
* Experience in ship scantling
* Familiarity with DNV Rules for ships
