Senior Power Systems Consultant
Location: Manchester (Hybrid/ Remote working available with occasional travel)
Salary: up to £80,000

Turner Lovell is supporting a global engineering and digital solutions provider as they expand their Power Systems Consulting division.
This team works at the centre of grid transformation, helping network operators, developers and industrial customers plan, operate and optimise resilient, efficient and low-carbon power systems.
Key responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, helping shape future opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Lead the preparation of proposals and technical scopes, ensuring clear delivery plans and accurate resource estimates.
Provide technical leadership on a wide range of power system consulting projects.
Carry out detailed system studies including dynamic/transient analysis, interconnection assessments and compliance evaluations.
Work closely with customers to understand their operational and technical challenges and develop tailored solutions.
Use industry-standard simulation tools (e.g. PSSE, PowerFactory, PSCAD, Python-based automation) to deliver high-quality analysis.
Ensure project outputs meet the highest standards of technical accuracy and clarity.Required Qualifications & Experience:
Strong background in power systems consulting with proven ability to deliver complex studies and provide expert advice.
Degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering (or similar).
Deep knowledge of steady-state, dynamic and transient analysis across transmission and distribution environments.
Proficiency with major simulation tools such as PSSE, PowerFactory, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink or similar.
Strong programming capability for modelling, automation and workflow optimisation.
Experience with utilities, transmission operators, distribution companies, developers or large industrial networks.
Solid understanding of UK/Ireland grid codes, planning standards and regulatory frameworks.
