PostgreSQL DBA
Are you a PostgreSQL DBA with strong Oracle experience looking to lead the charge into cloud-native architecture?
A leading FinTech company (mid-sized, product-driven, and cloud-first) is looking for a seasoned PostgreSQL DBA to join their in-house database team. This is a critical role supporting complex, high-performance systems and a unique opportunity to contribute to an enterprise-wide cloud migration journey.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting and optimising PostgreSQL databases on Amazon Aurora.
* Helping drive the migration of business-critical Oracle workloads from on-premise Exadata to AWS Aurora.
* Collaborating with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure database design, security, and performance meet enterprise standards.
* Working with a diverse cloud-native data estate including Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, and MariaDB.
* Implementing robust backup, recovery, high availability, and security strategies aligned to PCI DSS.
What We’re Looking For
* Deep hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL and Oracle DBA in production environments.
* Proven ability to migrate Oracle workloads to PostgreSQL, especially in AWS.
* Solid knowledge of Postgres internals, including replication, indexing, MVCC, and performance tuning.
* Experience working with AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM).
* Understanding of database security principles and compliance frameworks.
Bonus Points For
* Familiarity with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments.
* Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar.
