Reporting to : Brenntag Innovation & Application Manager UK/Irl Mission Manages and executes Innovation & Application projects to support the sales growth of Brenntag Nutrition in UK and Ireland. Ensures our Innovation & Application Centre is the local showcase of Brenntag Nutrition capabilities and a knowledge hub for our team, suppliers and customers. Scope of Responsibilities Manages a strong pipeline of projects supporting the development of our Nutrition business in the UK and Ireland. Projects include ingredient testing, formulation optimization, trouble-shooting and innovative concept development. Keeps a constant focus on all aspects of occupational and food safety for all activities taking place in the Innovation & Application centre. Supports Technical Sales Managers by providing technical assistance, formulation support and ad-hoc trainings. Assists Technical Sales Managers with the planning and delivery of customer presentations either on site or off site at customer own premises. Liaise with colleagues in our EMEA Innovation & Application network to share best practices participate in cross-border projects and initiatives, always within the boundaries of customer and supplier confidentiality Plans, executes and documents, using the company systems, all practical application work carried out in the Innovation & Application. Required skills: Good practical knowledge in using functional ingredients such as emulsifiers, stabilizers, hydrocolloids, starches, fibers etc; Good application know-how, ideally in several segments of the food industry (bakery, convenience, dairy, beverages…) Good basic culinary knowledge Solid project management and communication skills Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems Strong problem solving capacity and numerical ability Excellent in analytical skills and detailed-oriented.
