University of Lincoln - Part-Time Specialist Mentor
Randstad Student Support is recruiting for Specialist Mentors to work with students who have disabilities or mental health conditions at universities and colleges.
This hybrid role begins at the start of the academic year. Successful candidates must be able to travel to the local university or college and provide both in-person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
Role Responsibilities
1. Create strategies around organisation and time management.
2. Assist students in breaking down tasks to meet deadlines.
3. Help students achieve a balance between study and daily living.
4. Support students in managing anxiety, stress, or low mood.
5. Prepare students for new experiences.
6. Build confidence and strengths to foster independent learning.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality, addressing individual student needs case by case, and sharing relevant information with Randstad for optimal support.
Minimum Requirements
* Membership with one of the specified professional bodies (e.g., BACP, BPS, HCPC, etc.).
* Adherence to the qualification framework set by the DfE for students funded by the Disabled Students Allowance.
* Experience working with clients with disabilities or mental health conditions.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to build professional, confidential relationships with students.
* Punctuality, reliability, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage a caseload.
