Account Manager – Plant / Equipment Hire
West Midlands | Field-based
An established, high-performing hire business is looking to appoint a commercially sharp Account Manager to take ownership of a circa £4m portfolio across groundworks, civil engineering and housebuilding clients.
This is a proper account management role, not a glorified telesales position.
The Role
* Manage and grow an existing £4m revenue portfolio
* 70% account management / 30% new business
* Develop long-term relationships with key contractors and developers
* Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across tool, plant and equipment hire
* Win new accounts within your territory and convert warm leads
* Work closely with depot and operations teams to deliver for customers
* Full responsibility for margin, retention and growth within your patch
The Ideal Candidate
* Proven experience in tool, plant or equipment hire is essential
* Strong background selling into groundworks, civils or housebuilders
* Comfortable managing large, complex accounts
* Commercially astute – understands margin, not just turnover
* Hungry, motivated, self-starter who doesn’t need hand-holding
* Professional, credible and confident dealing with decision-makers
* Based in or around the West Midlands
