Job Title: Assistant EngineerPay: £17.60
We are seeking an Assistant Engineer with a strong background in Traffic Engineering and Road Safety. This role involves the design and delivery of various traffic and road safety measures, including parking restrictions, movement orders, and traffic calming initiatives. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing and improving our systems for handling enquiries and producing technical documentation.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Support the team by managing the administration and record-keeping of incoming and outgoing enquiries using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word.
* Communicate effectively with residents, businesses, stakeholders, and elected members regarding traffic enquiries and service requests.
* Assist in producing technical drawings and reports for parking/speed surveys and monitoring enquiry response deadlines.
* Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data, such as parking surveys, ensuring compliance with CDM requirements and Health and Safety legislation.
* Collaborate with other council sections and developers to ensure a cohesive approach to traffic management across the city.
* Utilise CAD-based computer programs to draft detailed drawings and plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in Traffic Engineering and Road Safety.
* Strong capability in designing and implementing traffic and road safety measures.
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and CAD-based drafting tools.
* Excellent communication skills for drafting clear and concise letters, emails, and reports.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and adhere to deadlines.
* Experience in conducting site visits and surveys.
* Knowledge of CDM regulations and Health and Safety compliance.
