Leonardo UK is seeking a Lead Project Manager to join our Customer Support & Services (CS3) line of business within the Typhoon UK Integrated Campaign Team (ICT). CS3 delivers integrated support to our customers worldwide, helping to keep platforms operational through integrated operational support solutions that include asset management, engineering services, test equipment support and product sustainment.
You will join a team supporting our UK customer through an innovative operating model with our key partner BAE Systems. We work as part of the Typhoon Total Availability eNterprise (TyTAN) delivering avionics support solutions through our Joint Avionics Service (JAS). You will play an integral part in the ICT, defining, developing and implementing future support & logistics solutions that meet the evolving needs of the UK Typhoon operator.
This role presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with skills in developing logistics/support solutions to join a strategically important area for the Customer Support and Services Line of Business.
This role can be based at any of our UK sites and will require travel to other Leonardo and customer sites. We operate a custom working model and offer flexible working to support your wellbeing and work-life balance.
What you’ll do as a Lead Project Manager
1. Lead the definition, development and implementation of future support solutions for the UK customer.
2. Work in collaboration with the Typhoon platform operator, customer and strategic suppliers to jointly and individually challenge and develop innovative solutions.
3. Build an understanding of the market and bid opportunity to support development of a tailored solution.
4. Proactively manage stakeholders to ensure effective communications, test understanding and refine requirements.
5. Ensure collaborative solution development, taking consideration of a diverse set of thoughts and ideas to deliver optimum support solutions for all stakeholders.
6. Work closely with the Head of Sales – Air Support to ensure that the solutions developed are in line with our customer’s strategy and future needs.
7. Build robust long term relationships with the platform prime, end user and strategic partners.
8. Work with our Capability Teams to develop and implement digital capabilities to improve and futureproof our services.
9. Ensure that the solutions developed maximise the PWin and are aligned to the Internal Business Plan (IBP) requirements.
10. Bring opportunities to Contract Award within Customer’s requirements and affordability criteria.
11. Develop a reputation with the Customer for innovative solutionising, technology insertion and value for money delivery of KPI’s and outcomes.
12. Be responsible for the overall Life Cycle Management of the Typhoon UK strategic campaign.
13. Address and minimise risk/maximise opportunities.
What we need from you:
14. Strong logistics or capability background, with experience in delivering high value industry defence / government contracts.
15. Exceptional stakeholder management skills – internally and externally.
16. Understanding/awareness of Typhoon in-service support programmes, or modern and innovative in-service support approaches.
17. Excellent leadership skills and experience in managing and motivating a multi-disciplined and geographically dispersed team.
18. Experience of working with multi-company collaborations or within a partnered working environment.
19. Commercial and business acumen, with strong financial understanding.
20. Ability to work with and influence others, at all levels in a dynamic and fast-paced service environment.
21. An end-to-end understanding of Customer and Product support, including all levels of repair and supply chain management.
22. Ability to formulate strategies based on in-depth analysis of requirements, risks and opportunities and communicate these to the relevant stakeholders in a clear and concise way.
23. An excellent and confident communicator and presenter, with the ability to engage with and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.
24. Adaptable and innovative - open to new ideas and skilled to lead change initiatives.
25. Working knowledge of the Life-Cycle Management processes.
26. Strategic planner/thinker.
27. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
It would be nice if you had:
28. An understanding of Trade Compliance and Export Regulations (ITAR, EAR, etc)
29. Experience in working within a bids and proposal team on a complex multi-stakeholder programme.
