Construction Manager – Contract Role (Outside IR35)

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join a high-profile advanced technology project in Oxford. This is a contract opportunity (Outside IR35) offering an initial 6-month engagement, with strong potential for extension.
The Role
Working alongside the Project Manager—who will focus primarily on client liaison—you will take ownership of the day-to-day site operations, ensuring the successful delivery of construction activities across a technically complex manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, ideal for someone with a strong background in managing M&E installations within advanced technology or industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities
* Manage subcontractors and ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to specification
* Drive progress across key packages including BMS (Building Management Systems), control panels, and associated M&E systems
* Monitor programme schedules and proactively address delays or risks
* Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and site standards
* Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team
* Maintain quality control and ensure works meet technical and design requirements
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Construction Manager on complex advanced technology, manufacturing, or industrial builds
* Strong knowledge of M&E systems, particularly BMS and panel installations
* Ability to manage fast-paced site environments with multiple contractors
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Familiarity with UK construction regulations and HSE standards
