Job Description
Are you an experienced Workshop Maintenance Manager looking for your next permanent position? If you have hands‑on experience with guillotines, drills, and band saws; are skilled in fault diagnosis across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems; possess strong welding, fabrication and sheet metal knowledge; and can lead a team of six, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for all plant, machinery and site services.
* Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults in a timely manner.
* Minimise plant and production downtime through rapid fault diagnosis and effective repair strategies.
* Project‑manage new installations and upgrades or modifications of existing equipment.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date maintenance records, logs and technical documentation.
* Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and availability.
Management & Leadership
* Lead, supervise and develop a maintenance team of six personnel and manage external contractors.
* Allocate workloads, set priorities and ensure maintenance activities align with production requirements.
* Support training and ongoing skill development within the maintenance team.
* Take responsibility for maintenance budgets, contractor costs, and spare parts control.
Qualifications
* Hands‑on experience with guillotines, drills and band saws in a workshop environment.
* Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication and sheet metal work.
* Fault diagnosis in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gearbox, motor, pump, fan, compressor systems, conveyors and extraction systems.
* Experience with preventative maintenance systems and maintenance planning.
* Strong mechanical and basic electrical fault‑finding capability.
* Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
