Assistant Practitioner (Orthopaedics)
Join an innovative, compassionate and collaborative Home team at NHS Scotland. This position is a Rehabilitation Assistant Practitioner within our Orthopaedic Therapy team at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
Responsibilities
* Work under the supervision of registered Therapy staff (Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy) to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
* Implement and adapt delegated treatment programmes.
* Complete daily duties to support patient care in ward C6 and the short‑stay ward.
* Deliver flexible, patient‑centred care to a delegated caseload, supported by OT and Physiotherapy.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary team members to provide a high standard of person‑centred care.
Requirements
* Formal qualification in a health‑related subject at Level 7.
* Knowledge of clinical specialty techniques and activities relevant to the patient group.
* Effective listening, communication, interpersonal, time‑management, planning and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to learn, develop new skills and keep a record of learning.
Working Pattern
This is a 7‑day service. Details will be discussed at interview.
