Stoke-on-Trent City Council – Directorate: Children and Family Services – Section: Service Support – Grade: National Minimum Wage – Hours: 37 hours per week. This advert is open to both internal and external applicants. This is a fixed-term position for 24 months.
Responsibilities
* Carry out general clerical and administrative duties such as typing, data entry, filing, photocopying, and email management.
* Act as first point of contact for telephone enquiries or reception visitors, taking messages and directing queries.
* Organise meetings and provide an accurate note taking service.
* Work flexibly to support teams across Children’s Social Care.
* Assist with financial transactions as required.
* Complete all required apprenticeship training, including attending college and submitting coursework.
* Follow all Council policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements.
* Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.
Qualifications
* A good standard of education.
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
* A ‘can do’ attitude and positive work ethic.
* A willingness to learn and develop your skills and complete the apprenticeship.
* Basic health and safety understanding.
* Confidence to fulfil all spoken and written aspects of the role in English.
Apprenticeship Details
* Provider: Newcastle College Group
* Programme Title: Level 3 Business Administration
* Course Length: 18 months with around 3 months period at the end for EPA; contract length 24 months.
* This position is exempt under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
