 
        
        Shift Mechanical Technician
Join the Maintenance team at Lancashire Renewables Ltd, working at our Leyland facility.
What You’ll Be Doing
 * Responsible for the maintenance of the waste facility processing assets, mechanical systems, and general site infrastructure.
 * Support planned and reactive maintenance work to ensure optimal performance and condition of the waste facility.
What You Will Bring
To be successful, it is essential that you have completed a recognised apprenticeship or hold a qualification at ONC/HNC level in Mechanical Engineering.
 * Experienced in delivering planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical systems, processing equipment, and infrastructure in waste treatment environments.
 * Skilled in using maintenance and business systems to plan, track, and report tasks, responding promptly to faults to minimise downtime.
 * Proven ability to work to structured schedules and support project‑related activities, including managing subcontractors.
 * Strong understanding of safe systems of work (PTW, LOTO) and SHEQ compliance within regulated settings.
 * Clear communicator with accurate record‑keeping and effective handover practices.
 * Self‑motivated and dependable, with a collaborative mindset and ability to work independently.
 * Technically knowledgeable, with sound procedural understanding, strong attention to detail, and a solid educational background.
 * Familiar with waste processing operations and associated systems.

About Lancashire Renewables Ltd
Lancashire Renewables Ltd was established to operate and manage the two waste treatment facilities built for the Lancashire Waste Contract. Our two facilities in Thornton and Leyland operate 365 days a year, processing over 5,000 tonnes of residual waste per week and diverting 95 % of this material from landfill.
