The Trust currently operates two oversubscribed schools for students aged 11-16 in the North Island area of Portsmouth. Admiral Lord Nelson School, Mayfield School and Trafalgar School, provide excellent, inclusive education for over 3500 students. We are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Senior Finance Officer who would be working across the Trust and within the finance team. General overview of the role: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate salaries, pensions, and deductions Oversee the administration of prepaid and commercial credit cards across the Trust Internal transfers and journals Produce monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reports for the CFO Provide finance-related training and guidance to budget holders where needed Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments Prepare VAT returns Maintain cash flow forecasts and ensure effective cash management Support year-end processes, including liaising with external auditors To be responsible for the safe keeping of all financial records To use Iplicit (and other subsequent replacement systems) for the management of Trust accounts We are looking for someone who: Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role Is AAT quailed or equivalent Is motivated, proactive, professional and demonstrates a can do approach Asserts confidence in analysing data with a high degree of accuracy and detail Has experience of working with payroll and education experience would be advantageous however training will be provided This is a great opportunity to join an exceptional finance team who has a one team work ethic and a wider team of dedicated people preparing students for the world of tomorrow.
